Childbirth and weight fluctuation are responsible for irreversible changes to your body and skin. Naturally these changes can vary in magnitude from one person to another; therefore, the recommendations for one individual may not be suitable for another. The skin tone and elasticity must also be considered.
Exercise your options!
No matter the condition of your post-childbirth skin, exercise is the key to enhancing your body, your energy level, and your self-esteem. Sometimes, however, no matter how hard you exercise, your body will not conform to your ideal appearance. That is when cosmetic surgery becomes a potential option. If you are considering cosmetic surgery, it is important to have realistic expectations; it should be employed to enhance your appearance and boost your confidence, not to make you perfect. If you elect to enhance your body surgically, the only way to maintain your new look will be through a healthy diet and exercise!
I have stretch marks
Although the skin is usually fairly elastic, when it is overstretched, the normal production of collagen (the major protein that makes up the connective tissue in your skin) is disrupted. As a result, scars called stretch marks may form.
If you have stretch marks on your body, you are not alone. Most girls and women have stretch marks, which tend to show up on the breasts, thighs, hips, and butt. Many women get them during pregnancy. Although they are more common in women, men can get stretch marks, too.
Stretch marks that result from pregnancy will gradually become much less noticeable in the months after you give birth. If you are not breastfeeding, you can try using tretinoin cream. A few studies have shown that applying 0.1 percent tretinoin cream may help with stretch marks. Tretinion cream is available by prescription only and may be prescribed by Dr. Abuzeni.
Laser therapy is another option to improve the appearance of stretch marks postpartum. According to the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, a surgeon will use different types of lasers depending on the color of the stretch marks. One type reduces the color of dark stretch marks and another stimulates the production of pigment-making cells in already faded stretch marks. A newer type of laser therapy can be used to stimulate the production of collagen and help restore the skin’s elasticity in depressed stretch marks. The presence of a few isolated stretch marks and the absence of any other issues may show very promising results with this treatment. When stretch marks are more extensive, Abdominoplasty may be necessary.
I have droopy breasts
Breast feeding, the effects of hormones, and weight fluctuations can affect the shape and perkiness of breasts. Following childbirth the breasts may begin to droop, the arealae may become larger, and the breasts may become smaller or in some cases even larger. For most women, Breast Augmentation surgery will restore the breast shape and volume. In other cases, Breast Reduction surgery or a Breast Lift may be necessary to achieve proportional balance.
I have hair in the wrong places
Following childbirth you may also notice hair growth in unwanted areas. Laser Hair Removal is most often performed on the bikini area, underarms, face, and legs. An advantage of laser hair removal is the avoidance of ingrown hairs that often result from shaving or waxing. Following the completion of laser hair removal the skin is baby skin soft and will be free of ingrown hairs.
